We're here to bust the myth that women of colour can't grow their hair long and healthy like other races.
If we want to have healthy and strong hair, it is essential that we take care of our diet first and foremost. Your hair is what you eat. When our bodies are properly nourished then our hair will also be healthy and beautiful. If this is not the case for you then you need to figure out what's wrong.
Do you have a disease or illness internally or on your head affecting your hair? Are you on medications? Your hair is a strong health indicator. Sometimes this is how persons find out that they are not well on the inside and it gets confirmed in a professional's office.
If you are quite fine health wise and have no fungal or bacterial issues with your hair and scalp but your hair seems to be breaking, has a lot of split ends, dryness, brittleness, slow growth, thinning or falling out in bundles, then you need a hair reset!
How to Reset Your Hair for Growth:
Revitalizing your hair will take a lot of internal and external treatments, steams, masks and massages with hair vitamins, good essential oils and protein. We recommend our great tea and aloe vera treatments, hair growth oil and rice steam to help this recovery process.
In terms of food, specifically, fruits such as kiwis or oranges, vegetables like beetroot, spinach, cabbage and lentils like peas, are key to maintaining healthy hair. Also eating lots of fish, which provides magnesium, and eggs, thanks to their large amounts of vitamin B12.
It will take some time to rejuvenate your hair so be patient. Avoid stress, the unnecessary use of hair dyes, harsh chemicals, over-heating from blow dryers, irons and curlers. Be gentle with your hair and you will soon find it growing and healthy again.
